Dr. Joseph Catlett joined Eliquent Life Sciences in 2022 after a distinguished career spanning 28 years as a Senior Attending Physician in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

In addition to his teaching and clinical responsibilities while at Washington Hospital Center, he was the site principal investigator for major clinical trials involving both benign and malignant hematologic disorders. He also served on the Oncology Institutional Review Board, the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, The Clinical Improvement Committee, the Graduate Medical Education Committee, and was co-chair of the Transfusion Committee for ten years. Prior to joining the faculty of the Washington Hospital Center in 1994, he was medical officer at the United States Food and Drug Administration in the Division of Oncology and Pulmonary Drug Products from 1992 to 1994. While a fellow in the Bone Marrow Transplant Laboratory of the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, he was involved in research exploring the genesis of acute myeloid leukemia. He has published his research in major peer-reviewed journals including Blood, Annals of Internal Medicine, Leukemia and Lymphoma, and the British Journal of Hematology.
